Web design pricing and more...

Custom websites are not cookie-cutter template sites so pricing varies depending upon the complexity and individual elements of each project. In order to give you a detailed estimate tailored to your project requirements I recommend that you get in touch with me so we can discuss your project and budget and then I can give you a better idea of the total cost.

Custom Designed Basic Website (non content managed)

A basic website is a brochure or informational website that does not allow you to manage your own content or interact with your visitors (i.e. social networking or a blog). It’s simply a website that informs your visitors of your product and/or service. One basic contact form is included. The design will include a home page design and one secondary page design which will serve as the style guide for the rest of the site. A basic site includes up to 5 pages of content (a page is basically what would normally fit on an A4). Once the site goes live, an XML sitemap will be submitted to Google and Google Analytics will be configured so you can view the traffic to your site.

Custom Designed Content Managed Website and/or Blog

Content managed (CMS) websites allow you to easily take control of your site’s content, images, videos, and text so you don’t need to have or pay someone else to update it for you. Having a content managed site means you can update your site on a regular basis to keep the information fresh and relevant. CMS websites are built using WordPress which allows for greater flexibility and extensibility. There are an enormous amount of plug-ins that can boost your sites functionality and search engine rankings. You will receive a custom design of the home page and secondary page which will serve as the style guide for the remaining pages. With a CMS you have the ability to create an unlimited amount of pages as well as add a blog and interact with social networking sites. CMS websites include two hours of training so you can quickly and confidently update your new site. Once the site goes live, an XML sitemap will be submitted to Google and Google Analytics will be configured so you can view the traffic to your site.

E-commerce

E-commerce websites are content managed (CMS) sites that allow you to sell your products online. The functionality that you need and the number of products that you wish to sell will determine which software solution to use. For those who only have a few products and who only require basic functionality and reporting your e-commerce site can be built into WordPress. Those who have numerous products and/or require complex functionality and in depth reporting will require a more comprehensive software solution. With a basic e-commerce website you will be able to easily update your products, content, images, videos, and text as well as manage your orders. Payment gateway configuration is necessary to process credit card payments or you can choose to sell through PayPal and avoid the bank fees and payment processor fees. I can detail these options for you so you can make an informed decision. E-commerce websites are custom designed so your site will not look like anyone else’s and they include two hours of training so you can quickly and confidently update your new site. Once the site goes live, an XML sitemap will be submitted to Google and Google Analytics will be configured so you can view the traffic to your site.

Logo Design

Logo design is the process of creating  the image that will represent your company. When creating a logo I will do extensive research into your business and your competitors and then start sketching ideas. Normally I present at least two options although there can be more depending upon how many renditions I believe meet your requirements. Once the design for your logo has been completed you’ll receive a number of files for yourself, your printer, and your website.

Graphic design

Graphic design can take many forms including but not limited too business cards, leaflets, flyers, advertising, and books or small booklets. I can give you an estimate when we talk about your project or can work with you to create something within your budget.

Product Photography

Product photography includes the set-up of the scene, research into your business and your competitors, and the actual photography with proper lighting. You will receive the original image files as well as a re-sized option for the web.

Email marketing

Email marketing services include the configuration of your chosen email marketing software and integration into your website. It also includes a custom designed email template that is consistent with the look of your website and branding.

Hosting

I only offer hosting to my web design clients and you won’t find me charging the astronomical prices of some other web design companies who attract their clients with low prices but then over charge them for hosting. Hosting with me means I can back-up your site once a week and perform updates to your CMS software as well as any additional maintenance. If you decide at some point you’d like to take your site elsewhere that’s not a problem. I will download the files and deliver them to you.

Domain name registration

As a service to my clients I offer domain registration with Discount Domains. You retain ownership of your domain name, I simply do the registration work for you.
