Sameer Khalid came to me with a request for a logo for his new social networking site, Meet Indians, which was created to help Indians living in New Zealand “discover, meet and socialise with other Indians in New Zealand”. The original brief was pretty wide open in terms of design, colours, and overall feel and it took actually seeing the first draft logo before finalizing what Sameer envisioned. The first logo was traditional and tried to bring icons from India and NZ together to create a sense of harmony but after seeing this Sameer realized he really wanted something less traditional, more modern and fun. Back to the drawing board. I came up with three different variations on a theme and Sameer eventually chose the final logo from the three presented with a few minor alterations. His feeling upon seeing the last three logos was, “I liked these as soon as I saw them.”
